Text Box: Joshua Lynch is in his first year as Director of Bands at Robert F. Bumpus Middle School.  Prior to coming to Bumpus, Mr. Lynch spent three years as the Assistant Director of Bands at McAdory High School in the Jefferson County School System.  While at McAdory, he improved the District Contest scores of the 7th and 8th Grade Band from 2’s and 3’s to overall 1’s in each of his last two years and led them to a performance at the Alabama Bandmasters Association State Concert Band Contest for the first time in over a decade in 2005.  He also led the McAdory Drumline to four best in class awards during that time.
            Mr. Lynch is a 2002 graduate of Samford University where he received the Bachelor of Music degree, Cum Laude, with a major in music education.  While at Samford, he participated in a variety of performing ensembles such as the marching band, wind ensemble, orchestra, percussion ensemble, jazz band, and steel drum band.  Mr. Lynch was a Dean’s List student, President of the Samford University Band, Co-captain of the Samford University Drumline, and the 1999-2000 recipient of the Samford University Band’s Trey Coley Award for Outstanding Service and Dedication.
            Mr. Lynch is very honored and blessed to be a part of the very fine band programs at both Bumpus Middle School and Hoover High School and looks forward to many years of success to come with these schools.  He and his wife, Melanie, were married in November of 2005.  In his spare time, he enjoys playing golf, playing Playstation 2, watching sports, and spending time with his family.
