Text Box: Chris Neugent- Simmons Middle School Director of Bands Text Box: Chris Neugent is Band Director for Simmons Middle School and an Associate Director for the Hoover High School Band.  He is in his 4th year at Simmons.  Prior to coming to Hoover, Chris was the Assistant Director of Bands at Oak Grove High School for 2 years, where he was responsible for teaching and administration of the middle school band program.  Chris received a BS in Instrumental Music Education and a MA in Music Education from The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa.  The Simmons Band consistently earn Superior Ratings at the District and State Level and Individual Band Members earn Superior Ratings at Solo and Ensemble Festivals.  In addition, many of Chris’s private clarinet students have earned scholarships to area universities.  Chris is a member of MENC, AMEA, and ABA.  Chris is married to Angie.  They have a son, Hampton and are expecting a daughter in November.   “There is always a choice about the way you do your work, even if there is not a choice about the work itself.”
